Written in the format of a letter, lyrically the song is a dive head first into how it feels to watch the ones you love lose themselves.

One small moment, every day is a second's dream, stepping out of balance with reality as my eyes immerse in shivers. Life is taking the shape of clocking in, clocking out, and hours staring at the ground.
I don’t want to die here like this, so ashamed of myself. Make me mean something, everything seems so insincere.
Vacantly swaying into dementia.

I suspended my body to the ceiling to feel the length of ascension decrease, and I wonder if it's better for storms to cease, or steeling myself from the cold bitter breeze.
A catalyst in the skyline pleading its views,
projecting the body as nothing but hues
displayed on a canvas, of etchings we choose. Devoid of volition in the battles we truce.

The truth is, I guess I never saw myself here at all in the first place.
You know how you let yourself think that every little thing will change and be alright? As if we could rearrange our lives designs?
It's like our purpose of existence is defined, deep inside absence of the divine.

Distant we'd become so silence stole our throats, and left what could numb to take what I need the most.
Shivers to my bone, needles in my skin.
I get it, I get it - I’m just a fucking statistic.

Is this what a vice is like? All the motions of disarray, as they shift so softly in the breeze - and my bones are bearing no weight.
Cascade throughout the interlay of light between the leaves, reshaped in dreaming eyes, and made as what could be.
Muted in a still frame of shades; a new perspective gaze. Found through the thick fog and haze, to start it all over again.

Shit isn't the same and it's not at all like before, when I was young, smoking cigarettes on the front porch, in the warmth of unending summers. Lost in it all for so long, thinking time would never move on - I guess I had it all wrong, and now those days are gone.
Then the clouds come around again, unveiled of their transient shrouds, to shove me under, and watch me as I drown.
Fading eyes, masked in lies -
shades of light, blur the view in mine.
